After its inaugural edition in Vienna in September 2024, Particolare and MAZE announce a new winter exhibition and cultural program in the Swiss Alps. This series of exhibitions and events is unified by a shared exploration of sculpture and moving images, both as media and as metaphors.
Its inaugural iteration launches in December 2024, presenting in Lens/Crans-Montana Mirrormap curated by Kolja Gläser (artist, editor, curator) and Valentinas Klimasauskas (curator and Director, CAC Vilnius). The exhibition interrogates the pervasive influence of technology on human existence. The responses, oscillating between optimism and unease, are situated against the dramatic backdrop of rugged alpine nature and sleek contemporary architecture—a site-specific articulation of humanity’s complex entanglement with the machine.

Subsequent events will further probe the dichotomies that animate this cultural festival: organic versus inorganic, soft versus hard, mutable versus unyielding. Among the highlights is a screening in Gstaad, Mediums and Mind Control, co-curated by Gläser and curator Piper Marshall, addressing the fraught interplay of occultism and technological innovation.
A public art installation in the heart of Gstaad’s Bernese village anchors the thematic with its titled Moving / Immovable exhibition. This iteration examines the paradox of public art as simultaneously fixed and transformative—rooted in place yet capable of altering its context.
The Mirrormap film program will travel to St Moritz at the end of February. The exhibition will be enriched by a second phase of the sculpture exhibition Moving / Immovable, focused on the theme of automobile and displayed alongside The ICE, the magical classic car concours d'élégance that takes place on the resort's frozen lake.
